Newport News, VA––nVIEW Corp. has announced the Luminator™ LCD projector,
establishing a new performance standard for data/video projectors that will
impact the way presentations are given around the world. The patented projector
incorporates a single active-matrix LCD with 640 x 480 resolution and projects
brilliant computer graphics and video from up to four sources simultaneously.
The plug-and-play projector is one-third the weight of conventional 3-beam CRT
projectors, and does not require any convergence procedure to use. The
Luminator incorporates a 400 watt metal-halide lamp that generates brightness
comparable to a CRT projector, and projects perfectly crisp 12-foot images from
Macs, PCs, VCRs, camcorders, etc. The Luminator's suggested retail price is
$9,995 and will be available at the end of September. The product will be shown
during MacWorld Boston at nVIEW's booth in the Bayside Pavillion.
